FAQ
Questions we get asked
Certification recognition, hybrid seats, continuing education credits, team plans, and refunds. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
Yes. Certification courses follow the current IICRC curriculum, and the exam is administered by the IICRC directly — your credential is issued in your name and appears in their registry. CEC courses are taught by an approved continuing education provider, so the hours count toward renewal.
Most certification courses have a hybrid seat. You attend the same live class over stream with Q&A, and the course materials are mailed to you before the class date. Hands-on labs like Applied Structural Drying require in-person attendance because you have to touch the equipment.
A course purchase gives you one year of access to that course. Pro membership at $69 a month includes every CEC course on demand plus all books as eBooks and 10% off classes. Pro+ adds Ask Captain Carpet AI, consulting, and 20% off. Certification seats are purchased separately at every tier.
Yes. Courses tagged CEC carry continuing education credit toward IICRC certification renewal. Credit hours are listed on each course page and your completion certificate records them automatically.
On-demand courses stay open for a year from purchase, or for as long as your membership is active. There is no weekly pacing and no expiry on individual lessons.
Yes. The Crew Leader plan is $249.99 a month and includes five seats, crew progress and certification tracking, a quarterly crew-wide session with Tom, and one consolidated invoice. Extra seats are $39 per seat per month on any plan.
Full refund within 14 days on any on-demand course you have not completed. In-person seats are refundable up to 14 days before the class date, or transferable to another date at any time.
No. Courses are labelled Beginner through Advanced. If you are new to the trade, start with Jobsite Safety and Water Damage Restoration Technician; both assume you have never been on a loss.
